Manel raga raga
Manel was born in Ulldecona in 1985. After co-directing the documentary short film MATANDO EL SUEÑO (2009), he completed a M.A. in Filmmaking at ESCAC in Barcelona. From 2010 to 2012 he worked as a filmmaker with La Fura dels Baus and in 2013 he presented the short film LA GALLINA in the Venice Film Festival, a film that won more than fifteen awards and that was in many film festivals around the world. In 2017, he completed a PhD of Liberal Arts in Filmmaking at the film.factory of Sarajevo, a school mentored by the Hungarian director Béla Tarr. During this period, he directed the documentary shorts ULLDECONA-UMOLJANI and MANEL VIU A SARAJEVO, and in 2018 he finishes GRBAVICA, a short film that is a free adaptation of a Franz Kafka’s tale and that has the premiere in the Locarno Film Festival.
Currently he is working in the post-production of the short film HOMENATGE A JUDES. He is also preparing the final shooting of COP DE LLUNA.
